| "Creek Road" 30" x 40" framed lithograph by Gene McInerney
Click here to see the original that is represented by the Uptown Gallery in New York City and is on sale for $8,500. Gene McInerney, a primarily self-taught artist, has achieved national recognition for his oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings. He finds his subject matter--people, places, objects--in his everyday surroundings in the farmland in eastern Pennsylvania. He has maintained a life-long commitment to portraying the commonplace in new and novel ways, while conveying a nostalgic mood and poignant sense of the past. The jewel-like, precisely rendered surfaces of these unique compositions reflect mastery of his chosen mediums. Gene's work has been widely exhibited and collected throughout the United States. His biography appears in "Who's Who in American Art" and other major references. He has regularly been included and won awards in national juried exhibits at the National Academy of Design, Butler Institute of American Art, Salmagundi Club, National Arts Club in Washington, Harrisburg Art Association and many other venues. His work has been featured in publications such as "The Artist's Magazine" and "American Artist WaterColor." In 1993 he was chosen to serve as a member of Winsor and Newton's first Artists Advisory Panel for his expertise in the acrylic medium. Gene's original work is currently being represented by the Uptown Gallery in Manhattan. Recently he was selected by Bruce Mcgaw Graphics for reproduction of his landscapes and has donated one of these, "Creek Road", to the Saint Theresa School's annual auction. This lithograph on paper is double matted with gold frame and measures overall 30 inches high by 40 inches wide. The original was painted near his home and depicts peak autumn color in a small village setting.
