The Board is comprised of nine (9)
elected members who are parishioners here at St. Theresa, and are usually
parents of guardians of current St. Theresa School students. One-third of
the seats are up for election each year. Hence, each member is elected to serve
a three-year term.
According to
School Policies and Regulations established by the Diocese of Harrisburg, the
purpose of the Board is to assist the Pastor and Principal in the governance of
the parish school. The Board is a “consultative” one, in that its members
cannot act apart from the Pastor and Principal. By the same token,
decisions are not ordinarily made in major matters unless and until the Board of
Education has been so consulted.
