Opening Prayer –         Msgr. Richardson

 

Approval of February Minutes –           Deferred, pending printing & photocopying

 

Chairperson’s Remarks – Dan Bates

Ø       Budget process nearly complete

o       Copies to be distributed to all members

o       Consideration to put budget on website

o       7% tuition increase

Ø       Letter to all parents re increase, explanations

o       Including more info re changes, additions, etc.

Ø       Projecting 537 students next year

o       85% already registered for next year

Ø       Teachers Meeting with Dan last week

o       Explained budget, etc.

 

Academic Update –      7 students attending Capital Area Science Fair at Dickinson College

this week

 

Parents’ Forum –          Concern re 5th grade class staffing issue – 5C

Ø       See attached report

Ø       Mrs. McMullin willing to meet with parents

Ø       Mrs. McMullin volunteers to sit in on class more often

Ø       Resolution to be pursued

 

Finance Report –          Dan Brown

Ø       See attached reports

 

Principal’s Report – Sr. Bernadette

Ø       See attached report

Ø       Board requests to have final numbers re MathFax competition when they become available

 

Assistant Principal’s Report – Mrs. McMullin

Ø       Millersville courses to be offered AT STS this summer; PALS meetings continue

Ø       Lecture series – final session cancelled due to decreasing attendance numbers

Ø       School participating in Parish 75th Anniversary Celebration


Teacher’s Representative Report –                   Mrs. Forr

Ø       Presented letter from teachers

Ø       Concern with delay in reaching equity with Trinity salary scale

Ø       Suggest Board draft an action plan to assure equity will be reached some day

o       Response from Dan and John emphasizing focus of budget

o       Concern with significant drop in enrollment – leading to reduction in number of faculty members needed – if tuition rises too high

Ø       Concern re packing up classrooms for Craft fair – request for help – HSA to check on this

 

Home School Association Report –                  AnnMarie Vittor

Committee Reports

 

Development – Pam Barbush/Stephanie Kreysar

 

Ø       Annual appeal responses now over $11,000

Ø       Services Directory complete – to be approved by Parish Finance Council

Ø       Anticipating $2000 Target grant anticipated for music program

Ø       Golf Tournament for October 3

Ø       Harrisburg Senators – St. Theresa’s Night - School receives 35% of tickets sold

Ø       Smart Money budgeted income increased for next year

Ø       Educational Tax Credit program – receiving calls re it

Ø       Gala prep in full swing

o       400 items ($50,000 estimated worth)

o       Many from classrooms

o       12 Ebay items after Gala

Ø       Wayne & BJ co-chairing Race for Education in fall                  

 

Teacher Liaison – Faith Curran/Livvy King

 

Ø       Work on Inclinator issue underway – $11,000 cost to be covered by federal grant

Ø       School phone for faculty – work underway

Ø       School nurse issue – still looking for new contacts at WSSD to pursue issue of additional nursing

Ø       School security issues –

o       “Exit Only” doors to be repaired

o       Possible need to reactivate Crisis Management Committee to address these and other related issues


Marketing – Therese Hills

 

Ø       Committee members assisted with Registration Days

Ø       Working on listing in Central Penn Parent Magazine spring issue

Ø       Pursuing providing School Fact Sheet to Jack Gaughen agency on trial basis

 

Day Care – Kathy Grogan

 

Ø       Lou Vittor visited Daycare to present bagpipe show for St. Pat’s Day

 

Technology – Rick Long

 

Ø       2 computers installed in Daycare; some power-related issues

Ø       Tech Work Night – Antivirus software replaced

 

Elections – Brigid Alford

 

Ø       Outline of election process this year;

Ø       Flyer to be included in Sr.’s April newsletter/envelope explaining process and encouraging nominations
