Committee Reports

 

Development – Pam Barbush/Stephanie Kreysar

 

q       Brief meeting tonight

q       Thanks to Home School for all of its hard work and cooperation this year;

o       appeal for new president there

q       Smart Money main focus of discussion

o       Need to increase revenue

o       Propose making Smart Money participation mandatory 2003-2004 Academic Year, if possible

o       Committee to work out details

o       Asks for Board consensus to approve Committee’s going forward with this project, subject to review by Executive Committee during summer after details worked out, and final approval by full Board thereafter

q       Race for Education moved from September to late April/early May

q       Still seeking Gala chair for Spring Auction

 

Teacher Liaison – Faith Curran/Livvy King

q       No report;

q       next meeting and agenda deferred,  pending meeting with new Principal, in order to have his/her input, concerns, suggestions, requests

q       Safety Committee now meeting every Tuesday

 

Marketing – Dan Bates/Brigid Alford

q       Phone survey completed re current but unregistered

q       New Families Ice Cream Social to be scheduled for late August; final details deferred pending meeting with new Principal; watch for email info re same this summer

 

Day Care – Dan Bates

q       Kind. day care registration closed; looking for physical plant options in order to expand enrollment

 

Technology – Rick Long

 

q       Met in May; upcoming summer computer moves and next year projects addressed

 

Old Business

 

q       Question re how soon Crisis Management Committee can be reactivated

o       Concerns re transporting STS students to Lemoyne in event of TMI incident; questions re accessiblity, etc.; acknowledge issue partly/primarily driven by WSSD and bus schedules, etc.

o       Wish to move on this ASAP

q       Question re anything in place for emergencies during Summer Camp

o       Some transportation available if need to move students quickly, such as St. Theresa Parish buses

q       Question re status of Gifted Program for upcoming academic year

o       Not known – Mrs. McMullin will be consulted

q       Question re uniform shoes – scuff mark concerns

q       Request for faculty members to be on alert re grant info for Gifted Programs

q       Short review of Principal Selection Process

 

New Business

 

q       Distribution of Spreadsheet re comparative tuitions of Central Pennsylvania parochial schools

q       End of year report from Board to be sent to all families to wrap up year

q       Suggestion that Board policies/minutes be kept in school for teacher/parent reference

o       Noted that Tech. Committee puts minutes on school website once they are approved by Board

q       Announcement that Tina Zimmerman will be PreSchool Teacher – therefore, Wayne must resign from seat on Board – consensus to replace him with Pam Barbush

q       Election of Officers (no new volunteers to fill these positions)

o       Dan Bates – Chairperson

o       Brigid Alford  – Vice Chair

o       John Ford – Secretary

o       Dan Brown – Finance Chair

q       Suggestion that next year Election Ballots include biographies of nominees

q       Question from BJ Meagher re Tuition Forgiveness Policy

o       Possibly extending policy to cover children of Catholic school teachers even if not teaching in that school (e.g., teach at Catholic High School, but have children at STS) – Board agrees to review this
