Approval of June Minutes

 

Chairperson’s Remarks- Dan Bates

Ø       Welcomed Mrs. Barrett to her first school board meeting

 

Principal’s Report- Mrs. Barrett

Ø       Main Report attached to Archive Copy- Some of the highlights included the following:                   

o       First Fire Drill was a success- All students out in 2.5 Minutes

o       Opening day enrollment was 519; as of September 22nd 523

o       We will receive $7,421 from Title I Funding

o       Early Dismissal Plan is being worked on, current plan has 15 people on cell phones making calls; rule is come on the bus go home on the bus NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

Assistant Principal Report- Mrs. McMullin

Ø       Gave overview of calendar for the month of October. 

Ø       Remainder of report will be archived.

 

Finance Report- Dan Brown

Ø       Dan gave a presentation on the “new look” format for this years meetings.  The format is easier to understand and follow. 

Ø       This months forms are attached to the archive file.

 

Teacher’s Representative Report- Mrs. Houseman

Ø       Gave a very detailed report that is on file with the archived copy. 

Ø       Mrs. Houseman also read and distributed a poem referencing this year’s theme of the lighthouse.

           

 

Home School Association Report-

Ø       Ann Marie was unable to attend, report will be next meeting

 

Committee Reports

 

Development-  Steph Kreysar

Ø       Steph gave a detailed report on the short and long term goals of the committee. (These are archived)

Ø       John Ford spoke about the need for sponsors and players for the golf outing, at the present time the event is a go with the need for sponsors.

Ø       Some dates to note:

o       April 29th- Race for education  

o       May 22nd - Gala

 

Teacher’s Liaison-       

Ø       No Report

 

Marketing – Therese Hills

Ø       No Meeting No Report

 

Day-Care- Kathy Grogan

Ø       Enrollment in the Day Care is 20 Fulltime and 5 part-time

Ø       P-3 and P-4 is 8 Full and 1 Part-time 5

Ø       Discovery Toy Sale Netted $250 worth of Toys may have another in time for the holidays

Ø       Before And After School-

o       43 Children in after school program

o       In need of adult helper from 3-6pm

o       2 trinity kids are helping out

 

Technology Report- Rick Long

Ø       Met September 14th- Discussed use of $10,000 donation.  Decided to have children build the computers.  Will have plenty of media coverage to help promote the school.  Also, would give us 6 more computers if we build them versus buying them.  Would like boards approval- Asked and received approval by consensus.

 

Octoberfest- Mike Butala is chairing the fest booth. 

Ø       We are doing the Children’s World. 

Ø       Needs volunteers to help man the booth.

 

Old Business- None

 

New Business-

Ø       Accreditation for Pre-School

o       Old Certificate has expired.  Process needs to start ASAP- takes approximately 18 months initial fees include a $150 Application Fee, $450. Fee and $50 renewal Fee.

o       The Executive Committee will look into and report back at next meeting.

Ø       The school is also interviewing applicants for the nurse position.  It will be a daily position from 10-2.

Ø       Wayne Zimmerman spoke about the amount of people he had help him in the renovation of the Pre-School.  He recommended that for future large projects we have a “project manager”.  He stated that at times “no one was in charge”.  Joyce responded with the new business manager will be over seeing all projects.
