STEM

Our science curriculum aligns with the Pennsylvania Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Standards (STEM) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).  We connect with Penn State CSATS Program to enrich our staff with the latest STEM programming and research opportunities.

All students in grades K– 8th have a weekly STEM class. Preschoolers also enjoy STEM classes as well scheduled into their curriculum. STEM class is focused on the “E” in STEM, Engineering. Students have Science, Technology and Math already built into their weekly schedules.  This class is used to teach students the physical building of projects to achieve a certain result.  They are tasked with something, given certain materials and work in groups to come up with the best solution. The class is meant to tie concepts together to come up with the best result/solution.
