Art Enrichment class... Glass Painting and Etching.
1st and 2nd class:
All students will create a design on a piece of paper. The older students will then trace the
design and use an Exact-o knife to cut their design out. Students will be given very specific
instructions on how to safely use an Exact-o knife. The younger students will use scissors to cut
their designs out. Children will place their design onto a glass jar and apply etching cream.
Students will wash their jar, and remove the etching cream and design stencil.
Students will use glass paint to embellish their etched design on their jar.
Due to the time factor involved in the older students using the Exact-o knives, they will
complete one glass project. The younger students will most likely complete 2 smaller ones,
since they are using scissors and will be able to create their design faster.
