Job Posting: Learning Support Teacher, KG – 5th Grade

St. Theresa School in New Cumberland is seeking a full-time Learning Support Teacher for the 2017 – 2018 school year. 

Candidates are expected to uphold the values of the Catholic Church and St. Theresa School.  Qualified candidates must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree along with a valid PA Teaching Certification in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education, clearances and Pastor’s Recommendation. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
·       Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop Learning Plans (LPs)
·       Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
·       Lead Member for SST (Student Support Team) meetings discussing individual student concerns, needs and implementation of interventions and accommodations 
·       Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
·       Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
·       Coach and mentor for teachers on implementation of effective classroom interventions/accommodations
·       Implement LPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
·       Update LPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
·       Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
·       Supervise and mentor teacher assistants who work with students with disabilities
·       Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade 
Starting salary ranges: $33K - $38K, depending on experience.  Medical benefits offered with this full time position.
